Fragile Families and Child Wellbeing Study (FF)

This information is only for PRI affiliates

STIPULATIONS FOR USE: Access to the FF collection at PRI is restricted to Penn State PRI researchers. Data can now be downloaded directly from the Office of Population Research (OPR) Data Archive, Princeton University. You must first register with the OPR Data Archive (you will receive a password via email). Once you register, you will need to apply to obtain access to the data (short form asking for brief statement of your research plan, agree to FF's usage terms and conditions). If you are a PRI researcher, and you would like to use the FF collection we have on PopNet UNIX, you must forward your approval from the FF project (user ID and password are not in this email) to the Data Archivist. Once confirmation of approval is received the Data Archivist will add you to a restricted FF users group to access the FF collection on PopNet UNIX.

DESCRIPTION: The Fragile Families and Child Wellbeing Study, also called "The Survey of New Parents," follows a birth cohort of (mostly) unwed parents and their children over a five-year period. The study is designed to provide new information on the capabilities and relationships of unwed parents, as well as the effects of policies on family formation and child wellbeing.

ORIGINATING AGENCY / PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATORS: Center for Research on Child Wellbeing (CRCW) (Princeton University) and Social Indicators Survey Center (SIS Center) (Columbia University).
