STIPULATIONS FOR USE: All users must register with the Office of Population Research (OPR) Data Archive in order to use the NIS data. Due to the registration requirement, PRI will not be including this dataset in our archive.

DESCRIPTION:  The New Immigrant Survey (NIS) is a multi-cohort prospective-retrospective panel study of new legal immigrants to the United States. The main objective is to provide a public-use data base on new legal immigrants and their children that will be useful for addressing scientific and policy questions about migration behavior and the impacts of migration. For more detailed information, please see the NIS Study Goals.
