National Health Interview Survey Supplements (NHIS_SUP)
STIPULATIONS FOR USE: Access Restricted to Penn State researchers and members of the Association of Population Centers (APC). The files prepared below were obtained from ICPSR. ICPSR does not allow redistribution to third party users beyond Penn State or the APC (permission to redistribute within the APC granted by ICPSR).
DESCRIPTION: This survey provides current estimates of health and disability status, health-related behaviors and health care utilization. Household variables in this data collection include type of living quarters, size of family, number of families in household, and geographic region. Person variables include sex, age, race, martial status, veteran status, education, income, industry and occupation codes, and limits on activity. The Condition, Doctor Visit, and Hospital files contain information on each reported condition, two-week doctor visit, or hospitalization (twelve month recall), respectively. This SodaPop data collection is comprised of several NHIS Supplemental Surveys.
