WHY ACCESS THE DATA THROUGH PRI?

PRI acquired the data from the PCS for use by Penn State researchers so you will not have to purchase the data. The data in our archive includes judge and defendant names but not social security numbers.

ALTERNATE WAYS TO ACCESS THE DATA

If you are not affiliated with Penn State, you can access the data through the National Archive of Criminal Justice Data or you can request it from the PCS.

ACCESSING THE DATA & DOCUMENTATION

Data:  Complete the account request form, selecting PCS data from the dataset list, to request access to the data. Once you have been granted access, you will be given a login and password to download data from SodaPop and will be given access to raw data files on the PRI network.  Paths to raw data on the network can be found on the file locations page.

DOCUMENTATION: PRI users may access electronic documentation using the paths listed on the file locations page.
