Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP)
STIPULATIONS FOR USE: Access Restricted to Penn State researchers and members of the Association of Population Centers (APC). The files prepared below were obtained from both the Census Bureau and ICPSR. Access to this collection is restricted because ICPSR does not allow third party redistribution beyond Penn State or the APC (permission to redistribute within the APC granted by ICPSR) and we cannot grant access to the data per year/wave.
DESCRIPTION: These data examine the distribution of income, wealth, and poverty in American society and gauge the effects of federal and state programs on the well-being of families and households.

SAS files have been created for 1992, 1993, and wave and topical module files for 1996 and 2001. If you have a PopNet account you can select variables to create a custom subset. This subset can be another SAS file or a comma or tab delimited file that can be imported into another software package.
